Britannia 1/4 Oz Gold Coin

The Britannia gold bullion coin is minted by The Royal Mint in 4 sizes: 1 Oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz and 1/10 Oz and the traditional motif is the female personification of Britain. The coins are minted from pure 999.9% gold (24kt). The reverse depicts a warrior goddess in flowing robes and a Corinthian helmet on top of a cliff to embody the unwavering pride of the nation. The coin's rim features the inscription BRITANNIA, the year of issue and the fineness and weight of the metal. The obverse of the 1 oz (one troy ounce) Britannia coin shows the profile of Queen Elizabeth II. In 2023, the coin was minted in two versions, with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and a portrait of Charles III. in a version designed specifically for a series of commemorative coins on the occasion of his coronation. The portrait of the king, created by British sculptor Martin Jennigs, is complemented by a Tudor crown. The coin is engraved with the inscription CHARLES III • D • G • REX • F • D" and the face value.
